Walter Mitty (Ben Stiller) works for a magazine called LIFE. He is an editor and creates photo stories for the magazine. He daydreams about the pictures he takes for his magazine and creates images of himself as well as others in his mind. Throughout the movie, he is constantly daydreaming about what could have been if he had taken those photos instead of his co-worker Sean O’Keefe (Sean Penn).

It comes to a point where Sean tells Walter that they need him to take photos in Iceland because Sean fell off of his motorcycle and broke his leg.

Mitty goes on an adventure with Cheryl Melhoff (Kristen Wiig), who also works at LIFE magazine. She finds out about Walter’s adventure through pictures that he takes on his trip to Iceland, and she wants to go with him to help him get over his fears of venturing new places.
